Kannur : A visit to God's Own Country

We three (Me, Biswajeet & Jyoti) started our journey from Bangalore to Kannur. It was my first trip to Kerala, So i was excited as it was trip after 8 months to any place. For a complete week it was raining and Kerala was flooded like anything. Even we all got call from our family and friends to cancel the trip. But we (All Idiots :) ) were convinced that the trip is no way going to be cancelled, what ever the situation / condition. As fun always comes with the challenges.

We started from Bangalore and reached Kannur New Bus stand early morning. Rain had just stopped and it was too foggy that we didn't dare to take a snap even. In the mean time we found our resort ( Pranav Beach Resort) at Palliya Moola beach. I cant explain the resort in words, so have a look from couple snaps.

This place was really amazing as you can find the roaring Ocean in front of you and the beauty of the resort is such a pleasant place to stay. Starting from the room service, break fast, dinner everything i can say is just fabulous. Placing a video here which will explain more than what i can write. Click Here

Now its time for some photography.

After having a visit in the palliya moola beach it was the time to explore kannur. We continued through the Payyambalam beach road and reached the famous "St. Angelo's Fort". one of the most beautiful, clean and lovely place in kannur. Even Goa's Aguada fort will even shy infront of it. I will recommend travelers to have a visit to this place for sure.

It was a nice visit and we were hungry by that time. Outside the fort there is a small Dhaba recognized by Govt. of Kerala. You can have all type of sea food items. But for vegetarians like me it is really tough to get something good :-(.  But no worries you can get fine vegetarian dining at Kannur new bus stand. You can get the flavor of Kerala there. Especially the lukewarm water with some ayurvedic reddish medicine which is the trade mark of kerala cuisine.

Now  its time for Fun again. If you want to enjoy a city, use the local transport. You can sense the city and people so closely there. First time i saw buses with out windows. all are open with out any glasses. Don't know how the commuters survive when it is rain :-).

We passed Thottada and reach the famous driving beach Muzhapilangad. It is the only drive-in beach in india with 4.5KM stretch. Probably largest drive-in beach in Asia i say. We walked almost 3.5 KM on the beach as we didn't had a vehicle to drive-in :-(
So lets have a look at this place now.

Near to Muzhapilangad there is a Island in the sea. After having snack at Edakkad we reached Dharmadam beach, but unfortunately due to heavy rain for past one week boats were not going to Island and we had to return to our resort.

Next day early morning when we woke up it was foggy out side. Found people jogging outside the resort along with Indian Army soldiers. Took the CAM and went to the beach to capture some moment.

Near to Palliyamoola beach one more place that we visited where travelers normally don't visit is NeerKadavu. Itis near to MeenKunnu beach and is surrounded by back water. A typical kerala country site. I can say probably a village of fisherman. This was really a amazing place and was our last destination too. We explored lot of places there, did a small trekking too.

After the small trekking when we reached the top, it was just amazing. I can say an untouched beauty. You can't control yourself from saying WOW.

It was a nice experience that we had there. We spent more than an hour enjoying the beauty of the place. Now it was time to leave the place but something was missing. It was nothing but the sunset at Arabian sea. just before we left the place found twilight so real. First time in my whole life i was experiencing such a beautiful reddish sky. So with these final clicks the journey comes to an End.
